A lot of people certainly heard of St. Martin or St. Maarten, but where is St. Martin? It's actually funny but I see airline tickets spell it as St. Marteen, where that came from I have no idea. But anyway, St. Maarten is a small island in the north east Caribbean about 180 miles from Puerto Rico (U.S.A.), so, it's on the right side of Puerto Rico and right under Anguilla. St. Maarten is about 1.5 hour flight from Miami, or a 3.5 hour flight from New York. From Europe about an 8 hours flight.
When you ask where is St. Martin, this could mean you are asking of the entire island, or specifically refer to French St. Martin, or Dutch St. Maarten, since the island is divided in two nations, since 1648.
French St. Martin is on the northern side of the island (facing Anguilla) and Dutch St. Maarten is on the southern side, facing Saba, Statia.
