A helicopter carrying two female tourist doing an island toured crashed into the sea around the Mullet bay area on St. Maarten. The engine failed and the pilot had to do an emergency descent or 'auto rotation' called in aviation terms. It was understood that the helicopter was a salvaged one. This is not the first incident. Less than a year ago, another local helicopter crashed into the sea, this time both pilot and passenger died.(Mike Huttenlocker and a former police commissioner). Author happened to be in the same helicopter a week prior...scary...
