2007-11-14 - Under suspision that drugs where being dealt with, the Dutch St. Maarten Coast Guard cooperated with the Gendarmes to intercept a go fast boat in French Cul de Sac. It seems that it was such a intensive operation that even the people in the neighbourhood thought they woke up in a action movie. The Gendarmes started a big action around 3am in the morning, along with a military helicopter mounted with machine guns that went off (as per someone's testimony). The boat Nautical Mystic was under surveillance for many months. They were caught redhanded with their 3x200hp santoise boat with 8 Cuban occupants. They were planning to go to the US Virgin island to smuggle these people in there along with drugs. It was understood the poor fellas paid $3,000 for the trip.
