St Maarten marketing efforts on track despite lower budget |

The St. Maarten Tourist Department budget was cut for the year 2010 but Commissioner of Tourism Frans Richardson said that tourism efforts was being unaffected.
He said that foreign press familiarization and tour operator trips were lower but that this is compensated by marketing efforts by the department. The tourism department is scheduling a Food & Wine Festival on St. Maarten for the month of October. This government department just like the others face the same issue of St. Maarten becoming a country this year in October and are looking for options to maybe privatize the department. |
